(SEO) Search engine Optimization involves the process of ranking higher in the search engines, it takes a very experienced individual, or team to achieve this. The algorithms are constantly changing, there is several factors that utilize a websites rankings below I have listed some things that are highly important, and certain techniques that we have used to achieve higher rankings with the search engines.

Search involves more then saying “hey I got a website”, it involves link building, research, social media, baity content, directory subs, and etc. Read on and create some ideas.

Link Building Guide

  • Link baits
Link baits is the process of pumping quality content out there. The more content you write the better off. People might not know about your content right off the bat, but sooner or later people will start linking and promoting your content.
  • Article Promotion
Article promotion is just a form of submitting to popular articles sites that will contain content such as knowledge that is usable, educating others, or anything that will brand you as an expert. Once the writer has wrote up the article, it can be submitted to websites like Webpronews, Ezine articles, and other popular websites. Also the writer can plug there name at the bottom, or in the signature box, and typically if a good article is written and the reader feels that this certain company or individual is very experienced in this field they could link to it, or it might even be a sale.
  • Directory Submissions
Do directory submissions this can be another part of your link building campaign which there is way better ways of building links, but free directories can be beneficial too.
  • Onsite Optimization
Onsite optimization involves the process of optimizing titles tags, meta tags, description, body tags, header tags, keyword density, and content through out the hole website. Onsite optimization can be a advantage to the user if utilized correctly, which granted onsite optimization don’t carry as much as weight as what the links do from other websites. When it comes down to it, its all about links. The title tag, domain name, and description is the most valuable thing about onsite optimization the user keywords should always be emphasized in there somehow, or someway, the higher density the better.
  • Contextual Links
Purchasing contextual links are by far the best links to get due to there relevancy, and natural look they got. I would have to say theres not to many better links then high end contextual links, speaking the advertiser gets the desired anchor text he or she wants. With the desire anchor text with your keywords on a related website is a plus plus!
  • Blog Marketing
Blog marketing can be a very strong technique to hit the search engines with due the pages it builds up with then your website, speaking content can create link baits. If you write excellent blog posts that contain educational information, or something that people like to see you can gain link pops off them.
  • Forum Marketing
Forum marketing can be another effective way of marketing if done correctly. You can brand your website with forums such as buying avatars, and signature links. The thing is with avatars you can use them to brand your image such as your company logo and get people famaliar with it. Also you can learn a lot from other people and meet people such as other well experienced people in SEO just depends on what forums your going to use, don’t expect to make a living out of forums because it won’t happen, but you can use them to leverage your online business in a better direction.
  • E-Mail
E-mails can create links, or increase sales if you have a website thats getting pretty steady traffic then create a mailing list form and advise your list of users that you will e-mail them once you have a special deal on something, written a well article on something, or anything that is highly knowledgeable in that particular field and more then likely someone will link to it, its call bait, you send the bait out and you catch links. Which can increase a website popularity by far. (just promote, promote, and promote)
  • BBB(Better Business Bureau)
Join the better business bureau, you will receive a higher end link from an authority site, and not only that you will get a logo to place on your website that will give you your company a better outlook, believe it or not, a lot of people feel safer buying online when they know your a BBB member, and plus you get a link from a higher end website, that I’m sure carries good trust rank with Google.
  • Ever done certain services for a website?
Have you ever done certain services to a website? If so, plus your url on the website with desired anchor text.
  • Request Links
I wouldn’t say this is the best idea, but if you have a friend, or you know someone that might put a link on there site ask them and see if they will link to you, make sure you get desired anchor text of course.
  • Reciprocal Links
Trade links with people, which we don’t really recommended this method unless its a high end link, or from a friend, but then again some people like to trade links. We just believe that one way unique links are the best, and plus if someone was to trade a link for every link they got, it would be a major link out farm.
  • Create ethical News
This could be a link bait technique, create ethical news that your viewers will find interesting, you can catch 100’s of links if done properly, just takes time and practice. Blogs can be very useful for this, put a blog on your main domain www.yourdomain.com and then start posting interesting articles only about important web news, or news that is related to your niche. (Social Bookmark it)
  • Hire a Professional Link Builder
Hire a link builder to do your time consuming work, or better yet teach someone to build links for you that would be happy to do it, but make sure you watch who you hire to build links on the web for you cause a lot of them won’t care and just offer spammy links, but hire a link expert, or teach someone, or just hire a seocompany which would be the best thing to do.
  • Renting Links
Renting links are a great thing to do, but there not permanent, which Dewitt’s Media always recommends permanent links, but if you have the cash and would like some high pr links that are coming from good trusted websites then sometime it can actually be worth it, but we much rather get a bunch of pr6 permanent links over renting a pr 6 link that is charging $500 dollars per month.
  • People Skills
Build relations with people such as making friends with business owners. Learn to work with numerous people and of course keep numerous people happy this will leverage your market for you.
  • Create a Links Page
Creating a links page which I don’t really use this technique when optimizing, but I know several people that like doing this because they might gain high end pr links from other websites that are usually relevant topics.
  • Content Rich Websites
Create a content rich website this can be a great way of gaining links, don’t worry about trying to create bait content. The best thing to do is just keep building your website and let it grow, and before you know it you will become a expert at creating link baits naturally.
  • Google Blog Search
If you really needs links go to Google blog search, search for relevant links to your topic. If you niche is related to website design, search for website design. Once you have done this go to all blogs and sincerely e-mail the webmaster of the blog asking if its okay to buy a link on there site, or maybe a sponsored link. Believe it or not a lot of bloggers have certain areas set up for advertisers, and a lot of the times they’d be highly interested in selling links.
  • If you see a lot of affiliates, sponsored links, contextual links, or advertising in general then the chances are they’ be highly interested in selling links, so this would be a great way of gaining link pops, plus they will b sure to tell there friends abou it on there blog roll.

  • Meetup.com
Go to meetup.com, and get a link with your desired anchor text this can be a great link, and is preferably a authority link. This idea came from Search Engine Journal by Loren Baker, to read more into this visit Loren Baker, Authority link through meetup.com
  • Multiple Yahoo Listings
This is a excellent way to gain more authority to your website, and I notice a lot of seos are not talking about it, but submit to multiple yahoo directories in different countries. These are all coming from sub domains,
  • so each links counts as an authority link and this will be another point with the search engines. Some of these links might have low page rank, but are still carry a great trust rank due to the age.

UK Yahoo Web Directory Page Rank 7 - *Autority Site*

Canada Yahoo Directory Page Rank 6 - *Authority Site*

India Yahoo Directory Page Rank 6 - *Authority Site*

Asia Yahoo Directory Page Rank 4 - *Authority Site*

International Listings Check here for a complete list of directories that yahoo provides

  • E-Mail Sign Up
If your website has specials offers, give aways, or education resources use a e-mail list to send out these things, so offer your visitors a form where they can sign up for specials, educational links, and etc. You’d be surprised the link pop you could get off something like this.
  • Donations
You can get links through donations. For example go to Google and type in Donate Open Source or something like that and you can get high quality links through donation sites they will list your company url for making a donation. All these links are permanent and generally from high quality sites, no one really talks about this technique.
Below I will go through certain techniques that are unethical ways of achieving links.
  • Bugging for Links
Continuously bugging for links, and asking for links, e-mailing webmasters and bugging for links. Not only can this be unethical, but it will not bring very good out look on a particular company in general, and sometimes people will wonder if your a failure, and won’t do business with you, as sad as it sounds.
  • Now that I have discussed various ways of building links, and how seo works, I will describe certain aspects on how a website is valued with Google such as page rank, trust rank, and other numerous things.

  • Trust Rank
Trust rank is highly important to search engines such as Google, trust rank is the trust you have with a search engine, typically the older domain you have the better trust you have with Google, but the more natural links that are pointed to your website that have a high trust value with Google is great, it will pass trust to your website.
  • Page Rank
Page rank is how important your website is considered to the search engines, the higher page rank, typically the higher search engine rankings you will gain, page rank is earned
  • by links, and considerably we do not promote the use of increase page rank, page rank is dedicated by gaining natural links that are coming from other websites, the higher pr level on a website listed to yours
the more link juice it will pass - depending on outbound links the page already has.

  • Bad neighborhoods
Bad neighborhoods stay away from them, if you find links that are offering higher end links, but then you check the website, and you see porn, gambling, or prescription drugs on the site, don’t put your link in there this can hurt lower your trust rank with Google, which granted after gaining so many trust links from google these links won’t really matter to much, but its highly important to stay away from these linking methods.
